Why doesn't my coverage document include a schedule of property values and locations? How do I know what's covered? The property coverage we provide is based on ownership or insurable interest in the damaged property, not on whether or not the property is listed on a schedule. Note that the definition of Property of the Member in the Pool coverage document refers to property owned by the member as the basis for coverage, rather than the schedule attached or the schedule on file with the company. Pool members still need to provide us a schedule of locations and values for each renewal. We need this information to determine your renewal premium for property coverage. Members must keep in mind that if they own any electric transmission and distribution lines and towers (T&D), the Pool will exclude these from coverage. Property insurance is very difficult and expensive to place for T&D. For members that own T&D, we will do our best to place property insurance separately if desired. But we cannot provide property coverage for T&D at the low rates the Pool charges for your other, more common property exposures. Members are encouraged to annually review their inventory of buildings, contents
and property in the open, as well as the types of property excluded from coverage,
with their account executive.
